Modelu Military figures

MODELU is a small British company that has been specialising in model railroad accessories, but has now branched into military figures.  Since the figures are 3D printed, they are available in a variety of scales, and I've been looking at figures from 1:87, through 1:76, 1:72 to 1:56.  I have photographed the larger ones, but the smaller scale figures are exactly the same...... just smaller!  Modelu intend to release similar figures in 1:48 and 1:35 scales.

The figure releases are US infantry of WW2 era, with several poses designed for use as vehicle crewmen.  The figures are scanned from a real guy in vintage uniform, so that the folds in the cloth are exactly correct.  The poses are also exactly lifelike.

The photos are obviously huge magnifications of very small figures, and the imperfections of 3D printing are greatly exaggerated.  In real life, this cannot be seen.

Overall, the figures look really astonishing in the smaller scales, and provide really life-like additions to any model.  In larger scales, the detail becomes slightly less sharp, but the producer plans to revamp his 3D printing in order to get the same level of exquisite detail in the larger figures.  He currently produces an excellent range of WW1 British army figures, and the plan is to further increase the range on offer.

I'd say that these figures are at least as accurate as any in the smaller scales, and the poses are particularly good.

Highly Recommended for Beginner to Advanced builders.

Thanks goes out to Modelu for this review kit.
