Chris “Toadman” Hughes has been making photo reference CD’s for as long as I can remember.    This CD came out around the time of Dragon’s M2 and M4 kit releases.  His photo taking ability does the vehicle covered justice.

For those of you unfamiliar with these CD’s, Chris has a collection of 19 different picture CDs available to purchase.  For those of us that have way too many vehicle specific books, these CDs are an excellent alternative to thumbing or paging through each book and looking for that one close up shot.  All you do is slide it into your computer and click on the shot you are looking for.  It really is that easy.  The prices per CD can’t be beat over the cost of the books as well.

The M2A1 CD I received has 230 full color pictures of the M2A1.  Some of the photos are of different vehicles to show comparisons.  He shows the later track tension spring off of a M16 half track to compare it to the one on the M2A1.  The photographed vehicle is a fully restored M2A1 from the Jacques Littlefield Museum.  The photographs are all crisp, clear, and well done.  The average file size of each photograph is a good 800k.  These disks are formatted to work with Windows, Mac, and UNIX operating systems.

Other CDs currently in his collection include the LVT(4), Matilda MK IV, M5A1 Stuart, M3A1 Stuart, M5 Stuart, M551 Sheridan, M4A3(76) HVSS & M4A2(76) HVSS, Sturmgeschutz III Ausf. G, British Anti-tank Guns of WWII, German Anti-tank Guns of WWII, T34-76 & T34-85, M18 Gun Motor Carriage & M39 Armored Utility Vehicle, 105mm M7, M7B1, & M7B2, M24 Chaffee, and the M47.  These are all well worth the price of the CD and you won’t regret getting any of them.

I would like to personally thank Chris “Toadman” Hughes for making this Excellent CD available for review.  Keep up the great work Toadman.  Remember, Chris offers AMPS members 20% off all orders.
