AMPS Boresight Magazine
Boresight magazine is the official publication for AMPS members. Featuring 32 full-color pages, it’s printed six times per year. Inside are armor-related modeling and historical articles, all submitted by its membership.
Production Schedule: Boresight is distributed to the membership on the odd-numbered months of the year (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep, Nov). Magazines typically arrive at home addresses during the middle to latter part of the delivery month. If you wish to have your content included in a given month, it must be delivered to the editor by the end of the even-numbered month that is prior to the distribution month. The editor shall make exceptions on occasion, but the final decision rests with the editor.
Boresight accepts advertising; publishing dates, artwork details and fees are available at the AMPS advertising section below.
Any currently active AMPS Member who recruits a new member will receive a four-month extension to their membership, which equates to two issues of AMPS Boresight magazine. A new member is defined as someone who has never been an AMPS member or someone whose AMPS membership lapsed at least three years prior to renewing (subject to verification by the Membership Coordinator).
In order to receive this benefit the new/joining member must enter the name of the person who recruited/referred them in the “Instructions to Merchant” section for all PayPal transactions or simply add a note in the payment envelope for all snail mail (check/MO) payments.

Want to See Your Model in Boresight?
All that you see in Boresight comes from your fellow AMPS members and new contributors are always welcome. The content could be interesting to an AMPS member - anything related to armored vehicle modeling, preservation or history. Send us your images and text and we’ll do the rest.
If you have shared images and descriptions of your work on websites or social media, the process is very similar. There are no word count or style restrictions. There's no need for expensive software – word processors are preferred, but we accept most any format. Sending text via email is acceptable, but we also offer a private, easy and free option to upload photos/documents to a shared server. We prefer unpublished material, but we will consider work previously published on a case-by-case basis. Text will be edited for correct spelling and grammar, but every effort is made to preserve the author’s original intent.
Images are important to tell the story to the reader. It's best to provide images that are unaltered and of the largest size that your device allows. Please include images of the model during the build, as well as finished poses. Capturing images against a solid-color background, with the entire model within the frame and posed from many angles is preferred. If captions are necessary, please put them with the text and refer to the image’s name.
Please contact the AMPS Publications Editor with your questions or guidance on how to contribute.
Want to Advertise in Boresight?
Boresight accepts advertising artwork; it should be at 300dpi minimum if at all possible. Hi-res PDF formatted files are preferred, as are vectored EPS and TIFF files. Hi-res JPG files are also acceptable if the aforementioned are not available. Files should be compatible for the Windows platform. Artwork transfer options include email, mailed CD/DVD and electronic transfer through cloud storage. Please contact the AMPS Publications Editor if you have questions.
Boresight advertising is priced by size. Download the advertising rate sheet here.
