AMPS is all about armor modeling and the preservation of armor and mechanized heritage.

   AMPS Boresight Magazine

Boresight magazine is the official publication for AMPS members. Featuring 32 full-color pages, it’s printed six times per year. Inside are armor-related modeling and historical articles, all submitted by its membership.

Production Schedule: Boresight is distributed to the membership on the odd-numbered months of the year (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep, Nov). Magazines typically arrive at home addresses during the middle to latter part of the delivery month. If you wish to have your content included in a given month, it must be delivered to the editor by the end of the even-numbered month that is prior to the distribution month. The editor shall make exceptions on occasion, but the final decision rests with the editor.

Boresight accepts advertising; publishing dates, artwork details and fees are available on the AMPS advertising page.

Any currently active AMPS Member who recruits a new member will receive a four-month extension to their membership, which equates to two issues of AMPS Boresight magazine. A new member is defined as someone who has never been an AMPS member or

someone whose AMPS membership lapsed at least three years prior to renewing (subject to verification by the Membership Coordinator).

In order to receive this benefit the new/joining member must enter the name of the person who recruited/referred them in the "Instructions to Merchant" section for all PayPal transactions or simply add a note in the payment envelope for all snail mail (check/MO)payments.

Want to See Your Model in Boresight?

All that you see in Boresight is brought to you by your fellow AMPS members and is easy to do. If you already post images and descriptions of your work on websites, then you are almost there. Capture images, describe what you did in your text and let the editors do the rest. We have no word count or style restrictions. If you commit to a project, there are no time limits; you finish it at your own pace. There’s no need for expensive software— the wording can be in the body of an email or even handwritten—but it is preferable to use a word processor like Word. Images are a little more particular as they tell the story for the reader.

While it is acceptable to send text via email, images consume bandwidth and it’s best to create a CD for traditional mail delivery. We also offer an easy, free way to upload photos to a shared server if you prefer.

Please submit unique content to Boresight that has not already published online or in other publications. Text will be edited for correct grammar, spelling and clarity but every effort is made to preserve the original intent of the author.

It’s best to provide photos unaltered and at the largest size that your camera will allow. If you want to write captions, then just put them in the text and refer to a photo name.
