Needed! ...Someone with more knowledge than me regarding the Dragon 6522 Pak 43/3 L/71 mit behelfslafette kit.
Gratifyingly the project is slowly veering toward the paint stage but a few questions won’t go away!
Firstly, why are parts J1 for the Behelfslafette in clear plastic? Two of the attachment points for the Sd anh 202 have a connecting conduit for what appears to be lighting fittings (Yay or Nay?) is this the reason for the clear parts? If not, what? And if so does this mean that the other two points J1’s should be painted over?
Next, on the Sd anh 202 parts F22, 23 and 52 (tool holder rails, 4 in total) the lower parts have a rods with chisel like ends; what is their function? My assumption being that they are for manoeuvring the axle units after the gun is ‘dropped’. If so where would they be attached to the axle units? If not, then ...
Another query, once the gun is dropped the two axle units can be connected via a “simple” rail for towing off site, does anyone know any references as to detail for modelling this?
And - if I’m not pushing my luck? - the box art for the Dragon Flak 37 and befehlslaffete No 6523 ( The kit is decidedly on my wish list!) shows a barrel /gun clamp for the Flak 37 attached to the befehlslaffete but the very, very limited resources for this cruciform mount do not show any such clamp for the Pak 43/3! ... Thoughts, facts, ideas anyone?
Finally, I have yet to ‘discover’ an extant Pak 43/3 on the web but I have the excellent Steve Zaloga article (V40/4) from the much missed MM and the same half dozen or so pictures (mostly seemingly of the same gun site position at different times[?]) that are spread across the net plus a myriad of 88 related titles that help via the track mounted Pak 43’s but there doesn’t appear to be very much at all about 43/3, the Sd anh 202 or the befehlslafette! ... Does anyone know otherwise?
And now ... Cheers for getting to the end of this marathon like post!
