Good day all
I need to make an informed decision so I can proceed with one of my current projects. Were the very first M1 Abrams tanks delivered to units with the non-slip surface applied from the factor or were they added later by the units.
I am building an M1 using the Panda kit, that was reported to be the very first on on European soil. I saw this tank as I was driving on post in Sept 1981. It was destined for a 3/64 armor organizational day display. I am ready to head to the paint booth and was wondering if I should apply the non-slip coating or not. The picture at the link below is of that very tank taken a day after I saw it arriving off of the railhead at Conn Barracks, Schwienfurt, Germany Sept 1981.
TIA
