Legend Productions IDF Centurion  Stowage Set

LF 1288

The Legends Productions IDF Centurion Storage set (LF 1288) is an upgrade set that is aimed at the AFV Club Sho't Kal Gimel (AF35267) and consists of 39 resin parts, four photoetched parts, and a small page of instructions.   The resin parts are cast in cream colored resin, with the details that modelers have come to expect from Legend Productions.  The parts will allow the modeler to add the stowage items that are typically found on Israeli tanks of the mid to late 1980's to give the model that "cluttered lived in" look that Israeli vehicles often sport.

Stowage Set Contents:

Here are the single, small page of instructions which let you know where to place the photoetched turret basket netting.

The major castings in the set: the filled bustle rack, stowage for the top of the turret bin on the tank commander's side, camouflage netting for the loader's side turret bins, and some loose stowage - this last sprue  on the lower right is also found in the recently released M48A3 stowage set.

Another view of the castings, with the "canvas" vehicle ID panels shown below the bustle rack.  The castings are quite nice with no trace of bubbles or "short" pours.

Crew baggage.  That duffle bag on the left middle looks a lot like a Canadian kit bag that I picked up in 1989.  Again, the detail of these pieces is outstanding

Ammunition boxes and cans. There is even a cassette player to keep up with the music of the day

The Israeli folding stretcher and the sprue with the handles above it, a five gallon oil container, and two Israeli plastic water cans in their holders.

Photo etch fret and a length of nylon cord to make tow cables to augment the kit's set of

Assessment:

This is another nice accessory set from Legends.  Although there seems to be some parts from other update sets, the parts are cast well and they fit the Israeli vehicles from the 1980's period. I like the varied items and if the parts are not used for your Sho't Kal, they will equally fit on that Merkava 2, M113A1 or M109 that is in your stash, ready for your build table.

Highly recommended for those with the AFV Club Sho't Kal Alef or Gimel , fans of Israeli armor or modern Western/NATO vehicles.
