Bronco - 1/35 British Cruiser Tank A34 Comet

I was excited about the chance to do another review kit for AMPS, so I figured I'd take a shot at a Bronco kit. When I received it and opened it, my first thought was, "Where are the parts?" This is not the Bronco kit I expected it to be, seeing it was a relatively low parts count for Bronco. The kit contains four sprues, a lower hull tub, one photo-etch fret, and decal sheet for six different vehicles from 1945 through 1980. You also get a strand of string, 113 track links, and four separately bagged idler wheels. 

The Comet came in late in WW2, and it was a redesign of the Cromwell Cruiser tank, but this one mounted the 17pdr Mk.2 OQF gun. You could say it's a Cromwell on  steroids. It was the only British tank to come near matching the German Tiger and Panther in general performance. But it appeared too late to play any major British tank combat in WW2. 

My first impression was surprise at the few parts. I built several Bronco kits, and this one had relatively few parts. Upon inspection of the sprues, I found the parts to be well-molded, but quite a bit of flash on several parts. Also, some of the details seem to be rather chunky and not well-detailed. I also found several knock-out pin marks on several pieces, especially on the sidewalls of the lower hull. In the rear, there are two rather large ones that need to be filled. Other than that, I believe that most of them will be hidden in the build. The undersides of the fenders will need to be addressed as to punch-out marks. I do see room for some modifications and improvements which may be addressed during the actual build. 

So here are a look at the sprues and the instruction sheet photos for you to come to your own conclusions. But hey, it's British, and I like British.
