Guideline Publications- MMI, November 2024

Every month is a treat when the Guideline Publications envelope shows up in my mailbox. We have the November issue early this month so let's get into it...

The issue opens with editor David Grummitt's Forum as he speaks to the prolific nature of German armor in modeling and how it has been the focus for so long for so many of us in our interests and fascination of the subject. News at the Front features new products from MikeResin, Das Werk, Miniart, ICM, FC Modeltrend, Jason Studio, Plus Model, and 3D Gizmo. We get three pages of Quartermaster's Stores as well.

On the Bench is next up- with Rob Riviezzo building up the Resin Tech Models 1/35 MT-25. Rob weaves his usual magic that we have come to know and appreciate with the 3D printed kit.

Stefan Szymanski goes small scale with "In the Summer of '41" as he builds the Hobby Boss 1/72 Panzer 38(t). The diorama features Titan Hobby spruce trees which are impressive!

"Blast From the Past" features Kristof Pulinckx's build of the Tamiya Jagdpanther. The kit has been upgraded with Aber photoetch and barrel, Friulmodel tracks, and a Eureka tow cable.

This month's Armour in Profile by David Grummitt focuses on "Cold War Kings of Battle"- the M107 and M110 self-propelled howitzers. There are 5 excellent color profiles featured in the article as well.

The accompanying build article "The Bundeswehr's Big One" by new contributor Marcus Jacob features the AFV Club M110. The build features digitally produced figures created specifically for the build.

Ivan Momcha Momcilovic is up next with "Eyes and Ears". Ivan used Dragon's Panzer II kit as a basis for the Panzerbeobachtungswagen III observation tank.

This month's At the Bench feature is next and spotlights Canadian modeler Tom Cockle.

Rick Lawler is back again with his excellent build of the Thunder Model Ford F30 LRDG truck in "Libyan Desert Taxi Service". The build is tricked out with Value Gear resin stowage pieces.

"The Price of Folly" showcases a destroyed BMP-2. Imad Bouantoun used the Trumpeter BMP-2 IFV as the basis for this masterclass in recreating burned out destroyed armor pieces.

Ilya Yut closes out the articles with his build of the AFV Club IDF Shot Kal Gimel Type II Operation Peace for Galilee 1982 kit in "Shot Kal Dalet". The small base is complimented by a Middle Eastern house from RT Diorama.

The issue closes out with two book reviews by the editor of two Osprey books. November packs another 100 pages of excellent works and news as we start the busy build season here in the States with the onset of late autumn into winter and more build time during the holiday season. To subscribe to the magazine,  as always, here is a link to the Guideline Publications website www.guidelinepublications.co.uk and US customers can subscribe to MMI and pay in US dollars at www.guidelinepublicationsusa.com .

Highly Recommended for Beginner to Advanced builders.

Thanks goes out to Guideline Publications for this review sample.
