Guideline Publications- Military Modelcraft International- July 2025

July means prime good weather for most here in the States. Great time for outside activities and modeling on rainy or hot, humid days to escape the outside. Issue 345 of MMI this month opens up a great selection of articles and a great spread of our recent AMPS Nationals in Camp Hill, PA. Editor David Grummitt starts the issue with a mention of the growing prevalence of 3D printed kits and accessories, as we can see from two News at the Front entries this month featuring 3D printed kits.

The first of these is a look at Osiris Models FV433 Abbot in 1/72 scale by Paul Bennett. Other featured companies this month include Panzerwerk Design, Resin Tech Model, ICM, Modern British Armour Models, Miniart, and FC Modeltrend. Rob Riviezzo writes up the KV-4 Heavy Tank Dukhov's Design tank in 1/35, the other 3D printed sample from this month. Three pages of Quartermaster's Store wrap up the introductory sections.

This month's On the Bench highlights Yury Tsimbalyuk's build of Miniart's U.S. Army G7107 4x4 1.5T Cargo Truck. Yury rounded out his build with the Miniart US Fuel Drums 55 gals set.

Next up is a 9-page spread covering the AMPS Nationals show written up by Steve Santucci. Featured in the article are photos of many Best Ofs and captions by some show participants.

"Monty's Caravan" looks at Ramón Segarra Guerrero's build of the ICM Monty's Office Caravan. Ramón chose the Tripoli scheme out of the three kit choices which shows off a cool two-tone camouflage pattern.

This month's Armour in Profiles continues MP Robinson's series on the M4 Sherman, focusing on US Military Aid deliveries and tanks in allied service from 1945-1970. This article features great reference photos and 5 excellent color scheme profiles for those looking to build an out of the ordinary Sherman.

Moving on, we come to Matt Edwards' build of Dragon Models Limited Flakpanzer T-34. Matt provides a great SBS of his painting and weathering process.

Peter Hano is up next with "A Veteran in Action" and his build of Trumpeter's 1/72 scale T-62 MBT 1962. Peter based his build on a modern photo of an ancient T-62 modified for modern use as a replacement for the enormous amount of combat losses suffered in the war with Ukraine.

"Bring on the Big Guns" spotlights Stefan Szymanski's dual build- featuring the 1/72 Compagnie d'Elite McLaren Gigantic towing Roden's BL 8-inch Howitzer Mk. VI.  Stefan placed his builds on a three-tiered Styrodur base.

Armour in Action looks at the editor's article "Combined Resolve 25-2". We get a peek at the US's 'Transforming in Contact' concept in action in southern Germany.

Ilya Yut again graces the pages of MMI- this time with his build of Trumpeter's 1/35 Russian BREM-1 Armoured Recovery Vehicle in "Bunny Girl Tug". Ilya chose a Ukrainian scheme featuring the Playboy bunny for his build.

To wrap up the articles, we get a feature on Scale Model Challenge 2025 with event organizer Robert Crombeecke. This year's show will be held at the NH Koningshof conference center in Veldhoven, the Netherlands on October 18-19.

Words and Pictures rounds up new book releases from Osprey and AK Interactive.
