Military Modelcraft International - September 2025

Back by popular demand, as the saying goes.....MMI...or otherwise proudly known as Military Modelcraft International, that outstanding armor genre only magazine that is published in the UK. MMI has once again come out with a fantastic issue. The September issue is busting at the seams with interesting articles, facts and outstanding modeling photos.
Military Modelcraft International continues to be the world's leading English-language military modelling magazine. This is about the 9th or 10th issue of MMI to grace my review table here in my house and I'm absolutely impressed with this issue as I have been with all of them. It just keeps getting better and better and I can't stress that enough. Each month it is packed with step-by-step build articles and this month is again, no different. It has exclusive reference material, and the latest news and reviews from across the hobby. In each issue they bring you the very best armor modelling from across the world. Sharing informative and accessible text and high-quality photography helping you to improve your modelling skills and get the most from your hobby.
Military Modelcraft International still boasts over 60,000 followers on social media platforms, namely Facebook and its international print and digital community is ever expanding, making Military Modelcraft International the world's number one name in military modelling. Still coming in at a very affordable rate to purchase, the magazine boast of content, content and more content...it's still only $15.00 USD and it's a great buy as far as I'm concerned. You get a lot in the issue every month and this month is no different.
In this month's issue, the relatively new kit, and just now hitting the market...the Takom T58 Heavy US tank kit is a beast of a kit and is built /reviewed for MMI by Chris Johnson. But, thankfully, it doesn't end there. The new products section alone is one vital reason for including this magazine in your arsenal of important publications to have. David Grummitt, the managing editor, continues to put out quality issues and this is no exception to that rule.
The line-up in this months issue.....
News at the Front-starting on Page 8-special mentioning here...
Normally I do not breakdown this section when I review the magazines but there's a lot here....In typical fashion, the "News at the Front" gets modelers going with sneak peaks of models that just came into being off the drawing board. Steve Andreano immediately starts off this issue of MMI with an article on page 8 concerning a model by Blitz, a 3D printed masterpiece in the form of French Artillery. The 155mm GPF Roues Bois - Cingoli- Pneumatiques with wooden wheels and rubber tyres. This kit is in 35th scale and is gorgeous! Paul Bennett then brings us up to speed on page 10 with news about the 3-D Gizmo printed model of their 1/72 scale Raupenschlepper Ost. On page 12, we get to hear about Gecko Model's British Infantry Tank Mk.I Matilda by the editor, David Grummitt, along with MiniArt's 35th scale G7107 Cargo Truck with Ben Hur Trailer and 35th scale Kleine Feldkuche Hf.14 w/crew. Vincenzo Lanna covers a 48th scale entry from F&A Miniatures which is a 3-D printed masterpiece of a model in the Fraun 1500 F Flaktrngerwagen on page 16. David Grummitt presents BSK Model fittings of clamps and fittings for WWII armor for Tigers, King Tigers, Panthers, and the Cromwell on the same page. Andy Badnell covers a new 35th scale model by Airfix in the Alvis FV622 Stalwart Mk.2 on page 17. Steve Santucci covers new 35th scale figures by Alpine Miniatures with Waffen-SS Grenadiers at Kharkov as well as new Value Gear 35th scale Universal Stowage Series 2 (Modern Tools), all on page 18.

PHOTOs.....SO what's in the issue.......Here's some photos....PHOTO TIME!!!!

This issue of MMI is truly outstanding. I loved the articles and everyone of them are interesting to see how they turned out with plenty of in-progress photos along with definitive "this is how I did this" explanations on how these modelers did things. The photography of the build subjects is clear and crisp with some wonderful close-in shots of the models. With easy to read text, wonderful photos, this issue is a smashing hit! The section on Shermans alone is something worth having and a great reason to have this magazine in your stash to read when you are shopping with your wife and she says as she's leaving the car to go into her favorite clothing store..."I'll only take a few minutes...promise...I'll be back in 10 minutes" and she walks out 45 minutes later. Have this in the car to read and pass the time away. It's what I do!!!!! The work in this magazine along with the quality of the articles submitted make it a keeper. David Grummitt has turned MMI into a powerhouse for the armour modeling community with this publication, well done!!
Highly Recommended for Beginner to Advanced builders.
Thanks goes out to Guideline Publications and David Grummitt for this magazine review.
