Guideline Publications- Military Modelcraft International- December 2025

This last issue of 2025 is packed with some excellent build articles by some MMI all-stars. In his Forum, editor David Grummitt honors the toughness of the Ukrainian people fighting in the war started by Russian aggression and especially the folks at ICM who were recently dealt a near-miss from a Russian missile which destroyed half of their production and storage facility but luckily did not result in human casualties.  We celebrate their resiliance as they continue to pump out new products and urge your continued support by buying and building the excellent products they offer. Speaking of which, News at the Front features new products by Resin Tech Models, Peaks Models, ICM, Miniart, Airfix, DEF Model, and Squadron. Two pages of Quartermaster's Stores follows.

December's On the Bench features Chris Johnson's excellent build up of the new Takom M1 Super Sherman. Chris' build really pops with all the extra details he added to the already excellent offerings from Takom that make the build all that much better.

Ramón Segarra has the first general article "Five Shades of France" in this issue with his build of Tamiya's excellent Renault R35 French Light Tank. Ramón used Vallejo acrylics to recreate the colorful pre-war camouflage pattern.

Tracey Hancock is up next with "Tank Training" and his build of the AFV Club CVR(T) FV107 Scimitar. Tracey scratchbuilt his dynamic base using layers of XPS foam and papier-mâché and AK Interactive asphalt to give his model an in-action visual flushing rabbits out of the brush to boot.

This month's Armour in Profile is up next as Thomas Seignon and M.P. Robinson offer an in-depth look at the M47 Patton tank in French Army Service as a follow up to David Doyle's excellent collaboration with Guideline Publications with the newer  book on the M47.

Jason Bobrowich is up next with another modern armor build- this time featuring the Perfect Scale Modellbau 1/35 Canadian Badger AEV with MEXAS in "Clearing the Way". Jason's build features some excellent scratchbuilt details like his fascine and the accompanying rack for it among many other excellent details.

"Tigers in the Grass" is this month's cover story and spotlights Kreangkrai Paojinda's build of Dragon's Tiger I Command Tank. Kreangkrai enhanced his build with aftermarket products from Alpine Miniatures, Eureka XXL metal cables, and Panzerart accessories.

This month's At the Bench features UK modeller Ian Barraclough and many of his modern armor builds alongside some different but equally sublime modeling subjects.

Marek Zindulka closes out the build articles for the month with "Afrika Grauer". The article features his small-scale 1/72 build of the Dragon Panzer IV Ausf. F1.

Up last are two Showtime articles covering the recent Scale Model Challenge and Eduard's E-Day 2025 shows. The issue closes with 4 book reviews in Words & Pictures showcasing new releases by David Doyle, David Chou, and Tankograd books.

Conclusion

The folks at Guideline have done an excellent job putting out the last issue of the year and it is a doozie. I look forward to putting 2025 behind me and hope the new year brings a continuation of the excellent published articles we know and love from MMI. At AMPS, we wish them continued success and the best of luck in 2026 and beyond.  If you haven't subscribed, here is a link to the Guideline Publications website www.guidelinepublications.co.uk and US customers can subscribe to MMI and pay in US dollars at www.guidelinepublicationsusa.com.
