ACADEMY R.O.K. K808 Wheeled Armored Vehicle

First a little background on this giant Korean AFV

The Hyundai Rotem K808 White Tiger is a 8x8 amphibious armored vehicle designed for the South Korean Army to enhance rapid troop deployment, reconnaissance, and front-line operations. Developed in the early 2000s and deployed from 2017, the K808 features 98% local components, a 430 hp engine, and a 100 km/h top speed.

Development and Purpose
  • Design Goal: The K808 (8x8) and its smaller counterpart, the K806 (6x6), were developed to replace aging, slower tracked armored vehicles like the K200 series.
  • Manufacturer: Developed by Hyundai Rotem, a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Group.
  • Role: The K808 is designed for front-line, rapid deployment and mountainous terrain, while the 6x6 K806 is utilized for rear-area security, logistics, and convoy support.
Technical Specifications
  • Protection: The all-welded steel hull offers protection against small-arms fire and shell splinters. It features STANAG Level 4 protection on the front arc and Level 3–4 on the flanks
  • Amphibious Capability: Equipped with rear-mounted waterjets for amphibious operations at speeds up to 8 km/h
  • Mobility: Features run-flat tires and an Automatic Tire Pressure Control System (CTIS) for various terrains.
Armament and Variants
  • Standard Armament: Usually armed with a shielded 12.7mm machine gun.
  • Upgrades: Can support remote-controlled weapon stations (RCWS) or two-man turrets with 30mm cannons.
  • Variants: Includes armored personnel carriers (APCs) and specialized command post vehicles.

Basic grill cover, water jet detail and clips. Stickers for lights. Tires are of the hard rubber variety.

Highly Recommended for Intermediate to Advanced builders, pending Full Build.
