What's Inside

Each volume in this series by Tom Cockle is a wellspring of excellent photographs of the selected vehicles that are presented in each book. The contents of #7 include photos of the following vehicles:

  • Pz.Kpfw.38 (t)
  • Pz.Kpfw.III Ausf.L
  • Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.H
  • StuG.III Ausf.F and F/8
  • KV-1
  • Omnibusse der Wehrmacht

Every section contains an album of photos of the subjects in combat or in between action. There is no real text to the book- just photos and their accompanying captions that provide minute details like which units the vehicles belong to, and may also call out specific details that might interest the reader. I find these books excellent inspiration for builds I have in the pipeline and often one grabs me so I want to try to recreate what is in the photo. I have included a photo of each representative vehicle in order of the above list:

Conclusion

I have only included a handful of photos here-- but choosing which one was real tough as there are so many that stood out to me in the book. Any volume is well worth picking up for those interested in some unique photos of selected vehicles and the Casemate website offers lists of the vehicles in each volume to give you an idea what's inside. I appreciate his attention to detail in the captions and look forward to volume 8 coming soon.

Highly Recommended for WWII armor and vehicle modelers at any level.

Thanks goes out to Casemate Publishing for this review sample.
