Guideline Publications- Military Modelcraft International- July 2026

Summer is moving right along and MMI is moving right alongside it with a quality, jam-packed July issue. The 100 pages seem like so much more this month with such a great variety of content by some of the very best talent in the hobby. Editor David Grummitt speaks on reference materials and I count this issue as one of them- so let's get right into what's inside.

News at the Front sees previews of products from Vargas Scale Models, Black Ops Models, MiniArt, CRS Tankwerks, Rye Field Models, and Resin Tech Models. Four pages of Quartermaster's Stores follows as usual.

David Grummitt is up next with this month's On the Bench with not one, not two, but three different 1/72 Stryker kits from R Models!

Ramón Segarra builds Tamiya's 1/48 M8 HMC in "Great Scott!". We get a great description of his painting and weathering process for the build in his write-up.

"Small But Not Forgotten" features Łukasz Orczyc-Musiałek's build of the Bronco 1/35 Humber. His base for the piece is just a straight metal can which I found very cool.

Domingo Hernandez and Juanma Vergara team up in "M24 Chaffee- First Indochina War". Domingo built the AFV Club Chaffee kit and Juanma tackled the figure that comes with the kit.

Accompanying the article is this month's Armour in Profile by MP Robinson and Thomas Seignon. It is an in-depth photo album of the Chaffee that would benefit anyone building the older kits or the new Tamiya 1/35 or 1/16 Gecko Models kit.

Matt Edwards is up next with his build of Academy's Panther Ausf. G Early in "Cutting Hell's Highway". Matt adds Def Models zimmerit decals to the build and they look excellent!

This month's At the Bench features Matt Reeves and his creative small scale builds of Iraqi and Iranian armor.

Chris Johnson represents the cover story this month with his excellent build of the Rye Field Models M50 Mk2 Super Sherman in "Desert Warrior". I always enjoy the subtle bits that Chris adds to his builds- like the olive drab searchlight on his IDF gray Sherman.

An eight page spread of the April Moson show follows in the Showtime feature.

Closing out the issue is Alex Clark's "Le Tigre Royal Français?" and his build of a FCM French Heavy tank from a relatively new Ukrainian company ScaleX. His 1/72 3D printed piece is a real head turner!

Two books on Operation Citadel are reviewed in Words and Pictures- one from Helion and the other from Random House.

Conclusion
