Guideline Publications- Military Modelcraft International Sept. 2022
The newest issue of MMI is packed with a great batch of build articles and model release news from various scales and genres. Things begin with the Forum written by editor David Grummitt. News at the Front this month features the latest releases from Masterbox, AMMO by Mig Jimenez, Tyrell Models, SSR Models, CMK, and Revell. We get three pages of the Quartermasters Stores featuring a roundup of more of the latest releases.
The first article "In Deckung Gehen!" comes from Ivan Momcha Momcilovic as he builds Tamiya's 1/35 Pz. Kpfw.38(T) in an Operation Barbarossa diorama. The base features a scratchbuilt building with some Miniart diorama accessories and Soga Miniatures figures.
Alex Clark is up next with a conversion of Zvezda's 1/72 T-34/85 into an "Egyptian T-34/100". Loads of sheet styrene and MagicSculpt details were added to make the modifications.
Chris Jerrett follows next with "Full Metal Jacket" with Dragon's 1/35 Dragon M-48A3 that was used to create a Vietnam-era USMC tank. With the help of DEF Models details sets and some hard work, the tank looks straight out of the jungle.
Accompanying this article is the Armour in Profile section featuring Part 1 of "Marine Corps Metal" by MP Robinson. This profile covers USMC Vietnam armor from 1965-67 and features five color profiles created by Sławomir Zajączkowski to his usual excellent standard.
"Shield of Zion" is next and features Özgür Güner's build of Takom's Merkava Mk. IIB. Özgür added Legend Productions resin Battering Ram for Merkava I/II and Eureka XXL 's metal tow ropes.
The last build article, "Spring is Coming" showcases Thomas Janiszewski's abandoned 1/35 Trumpeter's KV-85. The snowy scene is animated with the addition of Mantis Miniatures' grazing deer.
The Showtime section features a five page spread of World Model Expo in the Netherlands covered by Erich Reits.
Armour in Action this month feature's Carl Schulze's report "Defending Estonia- Exercise Siil 2022".
David Grummitt reviews five books in "Words and Pictures" to close things out.
Conclusion
As summer draws to a close and most people start their busier build times, this issue is a great jump start to get interests high and motivation fueled.
